The coves of Talmone

Small granite coves on the headland west of Palau, below the old Talmone battery. Free parking, a short walk, no services.

What it’s like

Rather than one beach, Talmone is a series of little coves between granite rocks along the headland, below the old coastal battery (Batteria di Talmone), now cared for by the FAI. Choose a cove by how far you want to walk and how much shelter you need from the wind.

Getting there

Drive west from Palau towards Porto Pollo and turn off for Punta Don Diego; leave the car in the free car park at the roundabout by Cala Scilla and continue on foot along the paths to the coves, 10–30 minutes.
